Philip, I taught with your mother at Lake Highlands Jr. High and met your father at the Gaston Middle School retired faculty lunches we used to have. I did not teach at Gaston at the same time he did but I was glad to connect with him and have the Gaston connection. I have many pleasant memories of working with your mother. She was a delight and I remember her delight with your arrival. And I remember the cookbook she gave me and I still have the angel food cake cutter she gave me when I married. My thoughts are with you at this time of loss of your father and the earlier loss of your mother. Joanna Morgan Shields
