Donald James Logan's Obituary
Donald James Logan, M.D., born August 2, 1932 in Valley Stream, NY passed August 5, 2009 in Dallas, TX at the age of 77. Married March 12 & 13th, 1960 in Poitiers, France to wife Judith Grote Logan. He is survived by his wife Judy, his son Paul Logan and wife Cari; daughter Julie Logan Kidder and husband Bruce; and son Chris Logan, and wife Christy; and grandchildren Robert Kidder, Marshall Kidder, Emily Kidder, Luke Logan and Shane Logan, and nieces and nephews in New York, New Jersey and Chicago. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Logan. Don graduated from Notre Dame in 1954 and Northwestern University Medical School in 1957. He was a Captain in the US Army Medical Corp and was stationed in France for 3 years. He was a founding partner of Dallas Urology Associates along with David D. Reisman, MD where he was in private practice until 2002. During his career he was the Chief of Surgery at Medical City Hospital of Dallas and the Chief of Staff at RH Dedman Memorial Medical Center and also a held a clinical professorship in Urology at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center. The memorial service will be held on Monday, August 10 at 12pm at Northpark Presbyterian Church where Don was an Elder and a member for 43 years. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Department of Urology at Northwestern or Northpark Presbyterian Church. He loved traveling, crossword puzzles, and the family ranch outside of Bonham where he always seemed at home with his family, his friends, and his animals. He will be missed by his family, his colleagues, and his patients, who seemed to love him as much as his family did.
