Donald R. McCants' Obituary
Donald R. McCants passed away on September 9, 2020 at the age of 74, after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Don was born August 19, 1946 and raised in Dallas, TX to Alford and Amelia McCants. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964, and then North Texas State University, gaining a degree in marketing. Don had a long love of cars and relationships with people. He spent over 30 years as a Service Advisor at Sewell Village Cadillac doing what he loved—helping people. He could always be found at the Texas Motor Speedway in his usual seats watching NASCAR and IRL, with an occasional trip to Talladega.
He is survived by his wife Sharon McCants of 52 years, his brother Rodger McCants of Conroe, TX, twin daughters Terry McCants (Santa Cruz, CA) and Leann McCants (Dallas), and son Mark McCants and Annette McCants of Dallas, TX. Don was a loving father who took great pride in his family. The family would like to thank the staff of Crystal Creek at Preston Hollow for all of their loving care. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75243.
