Donald Sidney Newbury Jr.'s Obituary
Donald Sidney Newbury, Jr. "Don", passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 in a residential care home in Richardson at the age of 75. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 32 years.
Don was born August 2, 1946 in Centralia, Illinois to Donald S. Newbury, Sr. and Constance L. Newbury. Growing up in the Dallas area, he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1965. TJ's Concert Choir impacted on his life and developed his love of music. Don attended The University of North Texas (formerly North Texas State University) for one year before serving in the United States Army for three years. His time was spent in Frankfurt, Germany and Chu Lai, South Vietnam.
After returning from Vietnam, he moved to New York to work at Twelve East Recording in New York City as a recording engineer. Upon returning to the Dallas area in 1973, Don worked at Sound Techniques Recording. A career change brought him to DFW Advertising and Response Web & Envelope. Don established his own company, Associated Print Group, in 1989. In 2003, he went to work for Encore Wire in McKinney where he retired in 2018.
Don is survived by his wife, Beverly R. Newbury of Richardson, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald S. Newbury, Sr.; mother, Constance L. Newbury Thomas and sister, Janis L. Newbury Stanley.
