Donald was born September 29, 1919 to Leon and Beulah Sloan as the first of seven boys in Kaufman County, Texas. Donald served in the army from March 13, 1941 until October 19, 1945. He was attached to the 57th Infantry Division i Read Obituary
I knew Donald as "Pops" and had the privilege of working with him on numerous occasions and always enjoyed his company. He was a hard working and determined man, an inspiration to all who met him. Pops will be missed by everyone especially those left behind in Downtown Garland. May God bless him and his family.

Donald was a wonderful friend. He was fun to visit with because of his sense of humor. I can still hear his deep laugh as we would share stories. He was a quiet man, whose love for Jesus was loud. His words were few, but his life spoke volumes. It was great to be able to know him and call him my friend. He has had his last bad day physically, and now is in the presence of our Lord, enjoying all that heaven has to offer those who love and serve God. He will be missed, and my continued prayers are for the comfort of his family that he loved so much. Gaye Wood
