Donald Ray Rupley's Obituary
Donald Ray Rupley, born June 18, 1951 in Dallas, Texas passed away on December 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Cheryl; brother David; son Daniel and his wife Heather of Owasso, Oklahoma, son Christopher and his wife Hannah of Fort Worth, Texas; his three grandsons, Felix, Maxwell, and Jackson; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin E. Rupley and Dixie Anderson Rupley. Don grew up in Fort Worth, Texas where he attended Polytechnic High School and played trumpet, trombone, and tuba in the band. Don earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. He worked as a construction superintendent for over 40 years. He served as a referee and on the board of the Richardson Soccer Association, and as a referee instructor for the North Texas Soccer Association. Don also served on the board of directors of Homeward Bound, Inc. for over 30 years. Don was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson. Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 3:00 PM in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Richardson Soccer Association Youth Scholarship Fund.
