Donald Francis Schrock Sr.'s Obituary
Donald Francis Schrock, Sr., 79, passed away on July 10, 2009 after 7 months of battling many health issues. Born in Protection, Kansas, on April 1, 1930 to Ollie & Anna Schrock, & grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas. He served in the Navy & Air Force & was stationed in Austin when he met his wife. After they married on May 29, 1953, they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where Don graduated from Indiana Tech with an electrical engineering degree. They moved to Garland, Tx. in 1958, & he has worked at Varo, Texas Instruments, Texas Transformers, Lightner Electronics & then purchased Richardson Generator, where he worked with his sons for the last 30 years. Preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille; sons, David; and Don Jr., his wife Erin and his grandchildren, Kyle, Kelly, & Kristin; also brother-in-laws, Jack Schmidli, & John and Ruth Schmidli; & multiple nieces & nephews. Don enjoyed playing & watching sports, fishing at Old Gray’s farm, & finding great deals at garage sales, but most of all he loved his dog Bo. Funeral services will be held on Sun., July 12, 2009 at 3:00pm, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sat., July 11 at Restland.
