Donald M. Taylor's Obituary
Born August 8, 1928 in Haskell, OK to James R. and Geneva (Salmon) Taylor. He spent the early years of his life growing up in Haskell, OK and graduated from high school there. After graduation he entered the military service and was assigned to the Army Security Agency, Pacific. Later military service included service with the 45th Division of Korea during the Korean War. After being released from service he enrolled at Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, OK and graduated with the Class of 1955. Donald was employed by Pure Oil Company in Tulsa, OK and Ardmore, OK. Later he was employed by Halliburton Oik Well Cementing Company in field operations in the Rocky Mt. Area, North Texas and East Texas. He transferred to the Dallas Division office in 1974 and remained there until retirement after 31 years of service with Halliburton. After retirement he remained in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn (Stepp) Taylor, his parents and his brother, Doyle D. Taylor. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ricky Petty of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Jean Taylor of Spring Lake, NC; nephew, James Taylor and wife, Jill of Tulsa, OK and other relatives and many good friends. Visitation Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 6-8pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 12:30PM, Friday, January 9, 2009 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, with interment to follow in Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Relief Fund, 208 Vine Street, Kelso, WA 98626.
