Donald Keith Tipton's Obituary
Donald Keith Tipton, 95, of North Richland Hills, TX, went to be with our Lord on December 7, 2023.
Don was born on April 1, 1928, in Calhan, CO, to George Ellis and Maude Bell Wooten Tipton. He married the love of his life, Lois Francis Speake, on September 22, 1947, in Clayton, NM. In 1952, they moved to Irving, TX, where he resided for over 60 years.
Don was a jack of all trades – he lettered in basketball in high school and was a brick mason, carpenter, mechanic, gardener, and ceramics maker. He also loved reading and watching westerns, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. Don was a member of Living Word Global Church in Irving, TX and was retired from Roadway Express as a Teamster and was an honorary retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen, and Helpers of America, Local Union 745.
Don is survived by his wife of 7 ½ years, Shirley McClean Tipton; son Pat and his wife Anna of North Richland Hills, TX and daughter Pamela Jackson and her husband Raymond of Keller, TX; grandson Ray and his wife Carrie; granddaughter Krisana, and grandson Patrick and his wife Lauren. Don had six great-grandchildren: Morgan, Meredith, T.J. Jackson, Preston, Ellie, and Jude Tipton.
Preceded in death were his wife of nearly 62 years, Lois, parents George and Maude Bell, brothers Dale and Alvin, and sisters Inez, Beulah, Marie, Irma, Lois, and Ellen. Don’s gentle spirit and joyfulness will be greatly missed.
