Donald Earl White's Obituary
Donald E. White died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, after a long illness. Don was born on September 5, 1930, in Springfield, Missouri the son of Arthur Earl and Christine White. He spent his boyhood in Springfield, and after graduation from college with high honors in 1950, he married Sue Jackson of Springfield, the mother of their two children. He accepted a direct commission in the U. S. Naval Reserve and served on active duty on a destroyer-minesweeper in Korean waters. Don served his country for 21 years in the Naval Reserve until his retirement in 1971 as a Commander , He was a Dallas resident since 1962, and he and his wife Sue were pioneers in the Quick Printing Industry until his retirement in 2006. Don loved all sports, and participated in many. He is survived by wife Jeanette, sister Mrs. Jerie Smith of St. Louis, son, Danny, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Sue in 1989, daughter Shelley in 2003, and granddaughter, Micaela in 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Don White memorial fund in care of Christ United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in The Wildwood Chapel Restland Funeral Home at 3:00 PM.
