Donna Joyce (Clements) Bickle's Obituary
Donna Joyce (Clements) Bickle, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Monday July 8, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in 1943 in Beaumont, Texas, Donna grew up in Mesquite and graduated from the original Mesquite High School in 1962.
Her family was her anchor and she cherished every moment spent with them. Donna is preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 yrs, Tommie Joe Bickle, her parents Don and Mattie Mae Clements, daughter-in-law Holley Doherty and nephew Steven Schmidt.
She is survived by her son Darin Doherty, daughter Deidre Wilson (husband Matt), her grandson Seamus Doherty, her sister Carol Schmidt, and niece Karen Smiley.
Having been a dedicated employee and colleague when she retired from State Farm after 35 years, she went on to spend her days fishing at Lake Fork, playing card and word games with friends, and paid an occasional visit to Choctaw Casino.
Donna had a quick wit, a hearty laugh, and was fiercely independent. She also had a heart for all animals and she shared her home with many rescued cats & dogs over the years! If you would like to pay tribute to Donna, please consider making a donation to the Denison Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) 3307 S Eisenhower Pkwy, Denison, TX 75020 or 903-361-4211
Donna leaves a void that can never be filled, but her love and legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us. She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 19, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park.
