Donna Kay (Hammond) Wells brought joy and light into the world from the moment she arrived on August 30, 1953, to Othal Hammond and Mildred Hammond in Dallas, Tx and her light continued to shine brightly throughout her life.
Donna was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and compassion. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family were evident in every aspect of her life. As a dedicated wife to James G. Wells, they shared a bond on love, trust, and mutual respect. Together they created a home filled with warmth, love, laughter, and cherished memories. Donna's greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children Misty D. Wells, Jason N. Wells, & Kristen L. McElroy (Husband Eric V. McElroy). She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them values of kindness, perseverance, and empathy. Also, her greatest joy in life was also being a grandmother to Jazmin N. Hernandez (Significant other Jorge B. Cital), Dylan R. McElroy, & Daisy L. McElroy & step grandmother to Eric Jr. McElroy Lavon McElroy, Derick McElroy as well as great grandmother to Jeremiah J. Hernandez, Jaliyah V. Hernandez, Jorge B. Cital Jr., Jenesys R. Cital, and Javier R. Cital. Her love knew no bounds, and all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and happiness.
In addition to her roles as a wife for fourteen years when her beloved husband James passed away in 1992 as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Donna was a loyal friend, a compassionate caregiver, and a pilar of strength to those in need. Her generous spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered fondly by many.
Through Donna's time with us was far too brief, but her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on all of the hearts who knew her. As we mourn her passing, let us take comfort in cherished memories we shared and the profound influence she had on our lives.
Donna's spirit will continue to guide us, her love will continue to inspire us and her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
