Donnie Jean Journeay's Obituary
Donnie Poskey Journeay was born April 10, 1935 in Grand Saline, Texas to Hertha Helen (Foeh) and Vincent Poskey, and died Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Garland, Texas. Donnie was a loud spit fire everyone knew was in the room. Donnie had a passion for animals and had numerous dogs and cats over the years that often shared her fiery personality. Donnie was a talented seamstress who often sewed clothes for her boys when they were younger, and for her grandkids later in life. As the grandkids grew up, Donnie picked up quilting, and as the clothes she made were gorgeous, so were her quilts. Donnie taught her family to quilt, but that was a task, because the family sewed with what she called “character”, and she quilted by instructions. Donnie always made the family laugh by either shaking her front door a hundred times to make sure it was locked, or doing whatever the grandkids convinced her to do.
Left behind to remember her are her sons and daughters-in-laws, Doug and Janet Kendrick, Jason and Becky Kendrick, grandchildren; Krissy Williams and husband David, Jeff Kendrick and wife Lisa, Hunter Kendrick, Clayton Kendrick and wife Jackie, Madison Ruwe and husband Connor, and Morgan Jones. Great grandchildren; Alex Williams, Elijah Williams, Victor “Jr” Vielma, Mallory Kendrick, Hunter Williams, Reese Kendrick, Hudson Ruwe; sister-in-law Nelda Poskey: and numerous other relatives.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Jay Journeay, her parents Vincent and Hertha Poskey, and her brother James Poskey.
