Doretha Lewis' Obituary
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (Psalms 91: 1-2)
Doretha Crawford Lewis was born to Chester and Norvie Crawford on August 18, 1959 in Jonesboro, La. The third oldest of eleven children, Doretha (who we affectionately called Doe) was considered the nurturer of the family. She was the most loving, kindest person anyone could have ever known. She always had a kind word and a comforting spirit to ease a troubled mind. A true believer in Christ, Doe always had the word of God in her heart, mind and soul to offer to anyone in need of encouragement. Her unwavering faith in God was firmly rooted in her heart like a tree planted by the waters. She was the epitome of grace, elegance and love.
Doe leaves to mourn, one daughter Crystal Lewis, three sons - Cheston Lewis, Christopher McFarland and Jonathan Braziel as well as four grandchildren. She also leaves behind seven siblings: Beverly Johnson, Terry Crawford, Jerry Crawford, Tony Crawford, Myra Obasi, Kenneth Crawford and Sherry Crawford as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
To our beloved sister, you were truly a blessing to all of us. You will always be loved and will never be forgotten.
