Doris E. Alexander's Obituary
Doris Evelyn Alexander, age 91 peacefully joined Jesus on March 29th, 2024. Born December 7th, 1932, in Cumby, Texas, she was the eldest child of Horace D. and Era B. Holley. Doris was preceded in death by both her parents, her loving husband Jim Alexander, son Kenny Boles, brother Aubrey Gene “Tex” Holley and sister Ruth Leake.
Doris “Grandma” was a gravitational force for any soul she encountered, be it family, friends, salespeople, customers at the dealership, neighbors, caregivers – everyone loved Grandma and she loved them right back!
Doris retired at the “tender age” of 86 from Park Cities Ford in Dallas, Texas where she spent 27 years as their receptionist.
She is survived by her daughters, stepdaughter, and daughter in law: Linda Arnold-Day (Scott), Paula Chambers, Gail Booth (Larry), Sonja Boles, her siblings: Barbara Leonard, Brenda Estes (Ric), Horace “Butch” Holley (Debbie). Grandchildren: Bruce Arnold (Shelley), Landa Payne (Joel), April Kerrigan (Dave), Scott Booth (Jennifer), Heather Hangen (Chris) and Danny Boles (Stephanie). Great-grandchildren: Dallas Arnold (Erin), Alexandria Kerrigan, David Kerrigan, Robert “Bobby” Payne, Michael Payne, Riley Hangen, Xander Boles, Maks Boles, McKinley Hangen, Revele Boles, Brooklyn Booth, Logan Booth, and Madison Booth. Great-great-granddaughter: Kenzi Arnold along with many nieces, nephews, and honorary grandchildren.
Mom/Grandma was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman – there are no words to express how much we will miss her every day.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th between 5pm – 8pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, April 5th at Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson, Texas with Pastor Pierre Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.
Doris’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
