Doris Eula Bailey's Obituary
BAILEY, DORIS EULA MCCARTY born December 24 in Tulsa, OK and passed away October 31 in Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Bailey; her parents, Harold Charlton and Pearl Dunham McCarty; brother, Robert McCarty and sister, Janette Figart. Doris is survived by her sons, Vernon and wife, Claudia, Steven and wife, Anita, Douglas and wife, Patricia; her sister, Laura Heller; her grandchildren: Tara Bailey, Rebecca and Michael Long, William Bailey, Christopher and Jennifer Bailey, Rachel Bailey, Jeffrey Bailey, Heather Bailey and Julie Bailey; her great grandchildren: Nelka, Vivian, Connor, Ava and Owen. Doris and her husband, Carl were married for 64 years. They met during WWII when he was a GI stationed in Tulsa. They moved several times during their marriage to Kansas City, New Orleans and Dallas. Doris was an avid bridge player and belonged to clubs in each city. She was very talented at sewing, needlecrafts, painting, and specialized in her lovely egg ornaments that family and friends will treasure. She was a fun and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be sorely missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation 2 hours prior to the service in the chapel.
