Doris Sylvia Delle's Obituary
Doris Sylvia Allen Delle, 79, passed away peacefully with her children by her side Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Garland, TX . Born October 18, 1935 in Emhouse, TX , Doris was a 1954 graduate of Ennis High School. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Floyd Delle, sisters Wanda Cunningham and Joy Parten, brother Clayton Allen, daughter Sandy Delle Mayabb and husband Carl, son Kyle Delle and wife Denise, grandchildren Stephanie Ridge and husband Jeremy, Ryan Mayabb and wife Sara, Nathan Delle, Jennifer Harrison and husband Ryan, Jacob Delle and Tyler Delle, great grandchildren Carter and Collins Harrison, Ryder Ridge, and numerous nephews and nieces. Doris was defined by her devotion to faith, family, friends and community. A 54-year member of First Baptist Church Garland, she taught Vacation Bible School, was an active member of the Joy Class and was a faithful leader within the church. Doris was an adoring mother whose love will on for generations. Always the family story teller, Doris’ charisma and zest for life touched everyone, and the tales, laughter and memories are her legacy. Her friends remember her as a trusted and loyal companion who always put others first. Doris kept children in her home early in her married life and later completed a 25-year career with GISD. She touched the lives of countless children within the community. Doris also founded her local Homeowners Association, was a Life Member of the PTA and was an active community organizer. Together, she and Floyd enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. with their extended RV family. Services for Doris will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Garland with visitation one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Music Ministry.
