Doris Ennis' Obituary
Doris Ennis, age 94, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. From her birth in Alvord, Texas on August 27, 1923 to her death, she blessed her community, her friends, and her family. Doris had a long and fruitful career, and she enjoyed reading, gardening, learning, games, puzzles, and visiting her friends. Her love and delight were her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. All she knew, and many she didn’t, were blessed by her love and care. Left to honor and remember her are her two daughters; Karen Crownover (husband Doug), and Kathy Fleming. Her three grandchildren; Matthew Crownover (wife Juliana), Heather Crownover, and Michael Kelley (wife Brooke). Her five great grandchildren; Noah (16), Micah (12), Miriam (10), Lydia (7), and Alice (1). She was preceded in death by her parents Hershel and Jimmie Collins, her husband, of 47 years, Arthur Ennis Jr., her brother Sonny Collins, her granddaughter Ashley Kelley, and her Uncle Bill Collins. Doris will be remembered as a graceful and true friend who never stopped learning, and caring for others. She was fully present with everyone she encountered and she will be missed and remembered by many. Memorial Service will be held on September 9, 2017 at 11:30am at Eastridge Park Christian Church; 2701 N Town East Blvd; Mesquite, Texas 75150.
