Doris Faye Jackson's Obituary
Doris Faye Lamb JACKSON, of Forney, Texas, entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on October 26, 2021. She was born on September 26, 1930 in Ozan, Arkansas to Thomas J. and Lula Lamb.
She married the love of her life, a young, handsome U.S. Army soldier, Arthur W. Jackson, on March 5, 1949; they were blessed with 61 wonderful years together, and welcomed six children into the world. Doris was a long-time member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano. Doris also ministered to area nursing homes, singing and playing the piano.
She worked for Kroger and retired in August, 1989, after 21 years of service. After her retirement, she and her beloved Arthur joined her twin sister (though they were polar opposites) and her spouse on traveling adventures to many different places. Even though she was non-verbal for the last 22 years of her life due to a stroke, she was still a charmer, and everyone she came in contact with fell in love with her. Strong, funny and compassionate, with a great sense of humor, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Our family is blessed by and thankful to our little brother, Mitch Jackson-he was always there to care for our Mom.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband Arthur W. Jackson, her son James Arthur Jackson, her brothers Bill Lamb and J.B. Lamb, her sister Geneva Harris, and twin sister Dorothy Seiler. Doris will be truly missed by her children, Ramona Martin, Steve and Becca Jackson, Robert and Staci Jackson, Rebecca Aday, and Curtis "Mitch" Jackson; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren (she was a wonderful and beloved "Mamaw" and "Meme"); as well as many other family members and friends.
Services will be Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Abbey Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243: Visitation 1-2pm, Funeral Service at 2pm, with burial immediately following.
