Doris Anna Jeffers' Obituary
JEFFERS, DORIS ANNA DELLENBACH was born to Anna and Alfred Dellenbach on July 9, 1916 in Abbyville, Kansas and passed on February 8, 2013 at the age of 96. She was the third of four children and is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Krenzin, and sister-in-law, Glenna Dellenbach, both of Abbyville, Kansas. Her younger years were spent on the family farm where she excelled and competed in all sports especially tennis. After high school graduation, she attended Bethel College and Phillips University where she was on the tennis team. Doris and Lloyd Bentley Jeffers were married January 25, 1937 spending 64 happy years together before his death in 2001. Doris was a servant of Christ and attended Valley View Christian Church in Dallas for over 45 years. Joining Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas before her retirement, Doris found another form of competition to enjoy. Golf became her passion and joy, and anyone playing a round with her knew she was serious when she warned, “No gimmes!” Her favorite competition was in the Lady Bug Tournament held each June, and her last time to play was in 2008 at the age of 91. She cherished her golfing and bridge friends. Her legacy and life will be remembered by her three daughters and their families: Loydeen and husband Kenneth Fadely, grandson Kirt, his wife, Jody Fadely, and great grandchildren Megan and Joseph Fadely; granddaughter Christine Fadely Lehnert, and husband Neal, and great granddaughter Brianna and Kelsey Lehnert; and granddaughter Sally Albright and husband Shannon, and great grandchildren Christopher and Andrew Albright. Daughter Barbara Stallings and husband Larry (deceased), grandson Alex Stallings and wife Tami, great granddaughters Allyson, Analee, and Alexandra Stallings; granddaughter Angela Carroway and husband David, great grandsons Nicholas, Parker, and Grayson Carroway. Daughter Kathryn Sawyer and grandson Samuel Harrell and wife Mary, great granddaughters Helen and Faith Harrell; grandson Staadan Sawyer and great grandchildren Kya and Chase Sawyer; and grandson Matthew and wife Brennan Sawyer, and great grandchildren Gwendolyn and Colton Sawyer. Services will be held at Valley View Christian Church, 17601 Marsh Lane, Dallas, TX 75287, Monday, February 18, at 2:00 p.m.
