Doris Cleona Mellett's Obituary
Doris Cleona Mellett was born January 14, 1928 in Lawson, Texas and passed away May 12, 2022 in Floydada, Texas at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents, and beloved husband David L. Mellett, and two sons Charles Mellett and William “Bill” Mellett. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Patterson and husband David, and her son, John Mellett and his wife Susie, along with three grandchildren, Juleianne, Will, and Josh, and one great grandchild, Forest, as well as five nieces and two nephews.
Doris was the fourth child of Charles and Mary Nichols. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, finished her schooling, and went to work at the phone company. On April 17, 1949 she married David, and they were together 62 years until his death. Beyond her family and friends, she lovingly shared her compassionate spirit with all creatures great and small. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. A special thank you to the staff of Beehive Homes of Floydada, TX for their compassionate care of our loved one.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend services being held at Restland Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas Texas, on Friday, May 20, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm. Funeral Service is at 2:00pm.
