If I knew, I have forgotten that Doris and my mother, Bonita McKeever, share the same birthday … a few years apart. I remember Doris and Bill from the years of worship at the Garland Road Church of Christ location. My sister, Marvalee, was closer in age to Russell and Keith, so they will possibly remember my sis. Nothing can be said to take away the sting of your loss, but I am sure you are being comforted by family, friends, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Prayers for comfort continue for your entire family.
Judy – Thanks for sending me the memory pictures of Doris. They made me smile and cry. Please Tell Russ and Keith and family my thoughts and prayers have been with them. Doris was a very special lady who will be missed by us all.
Doris was one of our original 'Dirty Dozen' Contract Rummy group from Highland Oaks Church of Christ. Oh, how much fun we ladies used to have playing cards, laughing and eating together! Also, Bill and Doris were a part of our Bridge Club from church. Our 'signature' Dirty Dozen song was "I'll Fly Away", which we all sang every time we met for cards. A few of us ladies were able to stand close by our dear friend, Doris', casket at Restland and quietly sing this song, just for her, as we wiped away our tears. We know she had a big grin on her face! Doris was a fabulous hostess, a wonderful cook, and it was always a pleasure to be invited into her super-clean, warm and comfortable home. SHE KNEW HOW TO THROW A PARTY and make everyone feel so welcome! We shared so many funny stories, and so many laughs!! I will miss her so much! God bless and comfort you, Bill, Russ and Keith, and all your sweet families.
We have been so lucky to have had Bill and Doris as neighbors for over 20 years. Doris always had a smile and kind words for everyone. We will miss seeing her as we did so many times, working in the yard waving to us as we drove by. We send our thoughts and prayers to the entire Seibert Family. Keith and Russ–we loved Doris dearly. Some of my favorite memories are family dinners, reunions, and when I lived with them in Dallas for a few months.
