Doris Spillman's Obituary
Spillman, Anna Doris Abney Age 90, of Garland, was born on October 26, 1918 and went to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on June 14, 2009. Proceeded in death by her parents, Homer Gartel and Lela Mae Abney, and brothers James Calvin Abney, Elbert Lloyd Abney, Willie Abney and Homer Ray Abney. She was married to Haskell Jefferson Spillman on May 7, 1938 until he passed away in 1981. On November 18, 1994, she married Hampton Waldrip who died on April 22, 2006. Survivors include her daughter, Nenva Vines and her husband Don of Plano; Grandsons Randall Vines and his wife Dona of Conroe; Matthew Vines and his wife Jennifer of The Woodlands; and great-grandchildren Stephanie, Sarah and Hayden Vines. She is also survived by other loving family members. She retired from Texas Instruments with over 25 years of service. Doris was a member of the first Baptist Church of Garland. Interment will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Grove Hill Memorial Park with a memorial service also on Wednesday at Restland Wildwood Chapel at 12:30 PM. The Reverend Jack Schmid will officiate with the Reverend George Fisk assisting. The family would like to thank the staff at Mayberry Gardens for their loving care of Doris for the last five years with special appreciation to her caregiver Julia Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer`s Association or the charity of your choice.
