I am so pleased I got to see Doris in November last year at a lunch with her good friends, Loyce and Diane. My childhood was full of Sunday lunches at Dickies BBQ where Doris would regale the table with tales of her escapades travelling with Bill. She was a great story teller who was not afraid of laughing at herself while Bill was quietly chuckling beside her. The friendship she had with my mum was long and enduring and involved a love of regular tennis games with lunch to follow. Later it was just lunch and when I would visit with my daughter all the ladies would gather with love and wonderful gifts as special bonds and memories were created with the next generation. Loyce is not so able to recall these memories now so I want to speak on her behalf that friendships like theirs are so precious. We wish Doris peace in her journey and condolences to the family.
