Doris Marie Stinson's Obituary
“And in the end, It’s not the Years in a Life, It’s the Life in the Years” -Abraham Lincoln Doris Marie Stinson “Bo”, 87, went to be with our Lord on December 17th, 2014. Doris passed away at Baylor Medical Center of Garland from complications induced after an accidental fall. Doris was surrounded by many loved ones to comfort her during her final days, hours and minutes. Doris was the daughter of Cornelius Renfro Townsend and Eunice Gertrude Lemons, born in Plano, Texas on February 6, 1927. She was married to Vernon Edward Stinson on June 15, 1946. They resided together in Garland, Texas where he worked in concreate and she worked and retired from Texas Instruments. Doris was a member of Bethal Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas for over 60 years and was an active volunteer for The Center of Hope for over 20 years, where they fed and clothed the homeless and less fortunate. Doris had the kindest heart and felt such compassion for those in need and was always first to help. She had a very nurturing soul. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon, brother Bobby Townsend, sisters Rosie Hayes and Brenda Britton and many other dear loved ones. She is survived by her children Cynthia Johnson, Stephen Stinson, Trudi Stinson and daughter-in-law Wendi Phoenix. Grandchildren James O’Neill and wife Misy, Stacy Hunter and husband Robert, Jason O’Neill, Jerry O’Neill, Hannah Stinson, Sarah Stinson and Abby Stinson; Great Grandchildren Brett Hunter, Ramsey Hunter, Kylie Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Trent Page and Katlyn O’Neill. She was the heartbeat of our family and the source of our strength…We will miss her dearly. +6- The visitation for Doris Stinson will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Doris Stinson will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 3:00pm at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
