In addition, she traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Greece, Japan, and took cruise ships around the Caribbean. Her family moved to Los Angeles and twice to Virginia as her husband’s job duties changed. After the death of her first husband in 1973, she met O.T. Atkins Stroope on the dance floor at Wintergarden, Texas and they married on Valentine’s Day in 1977. O.T. owned and operated the Stroope Bee and Honey Company in Alvin, Texas and she often traveled between her home in Garland and the “Honey House.”Survivors include her three sons, James Ralph Jordan of Dallas, Texas and his wife Roberta, Mark Henry Jordan of Austin, Texas and his wife Robbi, and William Thomas Jordan of Houston, Texas and his wife Lisa; her stepsons Jerry Steven Stroope of Pearland, Texas and his wife Mary Linda, and Garland Ray Stroope of Van Alstyne, Texas, and her stepdaughters Catherine Hughes and husband, Max of Frisco, Texas, Deborah Francis and husband, Dennis of Frisco, Texas, Mary Beth Stroope of Whitewright, Texas, and Nancy Lee Bartel and husband, Steve of Aubrey, Texas; her grandchildren Natalie, Jessica, Katy, Austin and Sam; and three great grandchildren Claire, Kinzie and Clark.
