Doris Irene Walkup's Obituary
Doris Walkup, 100, of Garland, Texas born November 16, 1916 to Earnest and Eva Robertson died June 8, 2017. She married A.V. Morrison, Jr. on Sept. 1, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma after his death in 1974 she married Joseph Walkup. Doris was a member of the Garland Garden Club, Parent Teacher’s Association, numerous bowling leagues and golf tournaments and a longtime member of First Methodist Garland. Preceded in death by her son, Art Morrison, III. She is survived by Dorcas Wynne (O.R.) of Terrell, TX; daughter, Meredith Smith of Garland, TX; Teresa Little (Don) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Raelyn Wade (Jerry), Terry Wynne (Kelly), Price Dixon, Beth Schara; great-grandchildren, Taryn Wade, Tyler Wade, Tory Wade, Mason Schara. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and guide in the lives of all who knew her. Special thanks to the staff at Abba Care in Garland and the Esteen Hospice that provided care in her final days. The service for Doris Walkup will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, June 12, 2017 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
