Doris Kendig Watkins' Obituary
Doris Kendig Watkins, 87, of Garland, Texas passed away on April 26, 2022. Doris grew up in Pennsylvania and returned frequently to visit friends and family. She moved to Texas with her family in 1971 and decided this was the place for her! Doris worked at Texans Credit Union for over 20 years and enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, playing darts, and enjoyed spending time at the casinos in her retirement. She was always willing to brag about her kids and grandkids, which was often! Doris enjoyed her time spent volunteering at Garland Memorial Hospital (later named Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital – Garland) and
at First Presbyterian Church of Garland. She will be dearly missed and always remembered by her family and friends for her love of life! Preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, son Raymond, brother
Robert, and sister Florence. She is survived by daughter Janet of Garland, Tex.; son Eugene of Georgetown, Tex.; Grandson Jordan and his fiance Veronica of Houston, Tex.; Granddaughter Whitley of Temple, Tex.; daughter-in-law Jan of Temple, Tex.; sister Barbara of Arizona, brothers Donald and Richard of Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service for Doris at First Presbyterian Church of Garland on Saturday June 18th at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris’s name to First Presbyterian Church of Garland, 930 W Avenue B, Garland, Texas, 75040.
