Dorland Earl Underwood's Obituary
Dorland Earl Underwood passed away on Feb 22, 2015. Earl was born on May 2, 1943 in Sherman, Texas. Earl graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1961. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Texas Tech University where he met and married his wife Jean. They shared a little under 50 years of a strong beautiful marriage. After graduating and marrying, Earl and Jean settled in the Dallas area. Earl spent his career at Engineered Air Balance. He worked there 51 years with time off for active duty in the Navy. Earl served as Vice President from 1982 to 2000, President from 2000 to 2010. His guidance will be missed. Earl was raised in the Casa View Christian Church and spent his adult years in the church carrying out leadership rolls. In 2008 he and Jean moved to Bartonville, Texas where they became very active in the Creekwood Christian Church in Flower Mound. Earl worked with other church leaders in establishing The Creekwood Christian Church Endowment Fund. The fund was established to help young men and women wanting to attend a seminary college to continue their education and calling. During his life Earl was a wonderful son. After the death of his father, Earl kept a commitment to take care of his mother and sister until his life was over. Earl was a devoted husband and father to his two sons as well as his nephew. Earl is preceded in death by father, Alfred Underwood and mother, Katie Underwood. He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Jason and wife, Claudine, Kevin and wife, Kristi; sister, Rosemarie and husband, Maynard Ewton; grandchildren, Chase, Madeleine, Sydney and Nicolas, nephews, Carter Moon, Cash McClain, Chris McClain and wife, Patty. A memorial will be held on Friday March 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Creekwood Christian Church 2660 Forest Vista Dr. Flower Mound Texas 75028 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Creekwood Christian Church Endowment Fund. Donations should be made specifically to Creekwood Christian Church Endowment Fund and mailed to Creekwood Christian Church.
