Dorothy Louise Andrews' Obituary
ANDREWS, DOROTHY LOUISE born May 31, 1920, in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Wade Aaron and Lillie Young Aderhold, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. After attending Spelman College, her career began as a stenographer for A. Phillip Randolph in Washington, D.C. She later retired as supervisor for the Dallas Housing Authority. An avid bridge player, she was a charter member of The Thirteen Hearts Bridge Club and The Bridge Interest Group. Civic and social memberships included the YMCA, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated – Trinity Chapter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Lillie Aderhold; husband, Robert S. Andrews, Sr.; sisters, Estelle Aderhold and Lillie Belle Hendricks; and brothers, Olin, Harold and Clifford Aderhold. She is survived by children: Judy Smith (Matthew), Cheryl Malone (Clinton, Sr.), Robert S. Andrews, Jr. (Sylvia), Jewel Jordan (Finis, Sr.) and Raynard Andrews (Jacquie); grandchildren: Pamela Jones, Michelle Peters, Clinton Malone, Jr., Carlton Malone, Robert S. Andrews, III, Finis Jordan, Jr., Francis Jordan, Evan Andrews, Natalie Andrews; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Vistitation open to the public Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church, 5002 S. Central Expwy, Dallas, Texas 75215.
