Dorothy M. Bailey's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Bailey was born in May, Texas on June 13, 1922. She passed away peacefully on June 12, 2019. Lovingly known as Dot by her family and friends, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.Dot was preceded in death by her first husband Joe L. Young in 1944; her second husband Sam F. Allred in 1988; and her third husband James M. Bailey in 2005. Her parents, sister, and two brothers also predeceased her.Dot is survived by her two sons Joe Young and his wife Nancy, and Dan Allred and his wife Syuan. She is also survived by grandchildren Mark Young and wife Joanna, Michele Daily and husband Jaron, Meredith Copley and husband Whit, Anne Marie Allred, and Emily Allred. Blessed by many generations that brought her abundant joy, are her great-grandchildren Kalin and Kyra Young, Taryn and Connor Daily, and Mary Harper, Clay, Reed, and McLaine Copley.Dot’s surviving expanded family includes James Bailey’s two daughters Lisa Skidmore and husband Jon, Amy Bailey and fiancé Scott Kleinberg; grandchildren Elizabeth Chapman and husband Pete, James Skidmore and wife McKenzie, Matthew Skidmore and wife Olivia, Jon Skidmore, Drew Austin, and Julia Austin. She rejoiced at the births of great-grandchildren Patton and Luke Chapman, and George and Norah Skidmore.Dot became a believer in 1961 when she accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her personal Savior and Lord. In doing so, she acknowledged each individual’s need for repentance and faith, believing the good news of redemption that is freely given through the blood sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. Dot made it her goal to teach her family, and through the grace of God, they too became believers.Graveside will be Monday June 17, 2019 at 9:00 AM in The Court of Trinity at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funarel Home following the interment.
