Dorothy Bartz's Obituary
Dorothy (Dotty) Gosper Bartz died on July 15, 2015. Burial was at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas on July 22, 2015. Dotty was born on April 8, 1927 in Albany, New York, to Ray and Jennie Wolf Gosper. Dotty grew up in Walton, NY, and graduated from high school there. She attended nursing school through the Army Cadet program in Binghamton, New York, graduating in June 1948. On June 12 she married Stanley Bartz after graduation and they moved to Barbourville, Kentucky, where Stanley attended college. Dotty was an active member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Tyler, faithfully attending her beloved Thursday morning Bible study for the past ten years. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley and her daughter, Nancy Torrealba. She is survived by her son, David (wife Vicki), and grandson Lyle. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Suzanne James (husband Jimmy), her great-granddaughters, Tanya James and Alyssa Flowers, and her great great-granddaughters Ava and Audrey Flowers. A Memorial Service in celebration of Dotty’s life is scheduled Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 2 p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church, 230 West Rusk Street, Tyler. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to 1st Presbyterian Church.
