Dorothy Faye Bryan's Obituary
Dorothy Bryan was born on January 26, 1941 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Bernice (Maxey) Moore and Leon Moore. She passed away on September 8, 2023 at the age of 82.
As the daughter of two Winn Parish natives, Dorothy started school at Westside Elementary School in Winnfield and graduated from Winnfield High School in May of 1959. She then attended and graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1963.
Following her teaching 8th grade for one year, Dorothy’s professional career at Texas Instruments began in Houston, Texas. This is where she met her beloved husband, Jimmy Lee Bryan. They married in Houston, on February 8, 1970, then moved to Dallas.
Her career spanned 42 years with positions at TI, Johnson + Johnson, Southland Corp, and Bank of America. She retired from the bank in 2012 as the Senior Vice President of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her father, Leon Moore; mother, Bernice (Maxey) Moore; and daughter, Angela Danielle Nevils, whom she shared with her first husband, Gary Nevils. Angela was born on September 3, 1964 and passed on September 4, 1988.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Carolyn G. Murphy of Naples, Florida and her brother, Ricky L. Moore of Wylie, Texas. Also surviving her are her nieces, Melissa and Kristina Moore and one nephew, Matt Murphy.
Dorothy was a very thoughtful and analytical person. She always had a job and loved the professional business world. She was quietly a crusader for women in the work force.
In her free time, Dorothy liked to play golf and travel. Her family will always cherish the memories they made during the many trips and vacations they took together over the years.
