Dorothy Jean Crownrich's Obituary
Dorothy Jean (Musick) Crownrich - July 19, 1928 - September 24, 2021. At age 93, Jean Crownrich passed away peacefully in her sleep after fighting a very long battle with Cognitive Dementia and Severe Alzheimer's Disease. Jean was the daughter of parents, Vernon E. and Alta Rose Musick. Growing up during the Depression, Jean worked upon the family farm from a young age, harvesting peanuts and picking cotton alongside her siblings. These events facilitated an extremely, difficult childhood for Jean and her siblings. Additionally, her beloved brother Lonnie, the youngest of the siblings, died at age 2, when Jean was only 4 years old.
Jean attended primary and secondary school in Tolar, Texas. She proceeded to graduate Valedictorian in 1946, from Granbury High School in Granbury, Texas.
She pursued a higher education in attendance of Texas Junior Women’s College for her undergraduate studies and continued onto receiving her master’s degree in 1952.
Upon successful graduation of her collegiate studies within the educational field, Jean moved to Dallas, Texas. Educating the youth of the day was a great passion of her life. Jean taught High School History for 18 years within the Dallas Independent School District at Woodrow Wilson High School.
Upon one synchronically, fateful, sudden, and very happy, life alternating day in the early 1960's. Jean met Joe Roger Crownrich. The two immediately shared a heart-connection while waiting in an extremely long bank line. Roger Crownrich grew up in a similar time and socioeconomic status. However, by the time they met, he had become completely and independently with no assistance nor higher extensive formal education, the premiere Dallas Socialite Bachelor and equally as well, a highly respected Design-Build Contractor Business owner. Jean and Roger were married in 1968.
In October of 1970, Jean ceased teaching to become a full-time homemaker and mother when Brenda Jean Crownrich was adopted at birth.
Jean loved being a mother, and adored beyond what any words could suffice, her two grandsons, Hunter T. Jensen, now 22 years old and a recent graduate of The University of Vermont, and Austin R, Jensen, age 20, a Junior at The University of Delaware.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe “Roger” Crownrich in 2008. The two of them crossed over upon (the same day of the year, yet 13 years apart), her parents, three brothers, one sister and a special Aunt of Roger's, named Pearl Thomas along with her children, as well as, numerous, other members of her outwardly, extended family.
She is survived by their only child, her daughter Brenda Crownrich Jensen, 50, of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, an Equine-Assisted Therapeutic Activities provider whom works with Trauma clients, and her two grandsons, Hunter Thor Jensen and Austin Rayce Jensen, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends in the Dallas area, as well as within Florida, Alabama, and other areas in Texas.
The family would like to honor and express their infinite gratitude to Joe and Elaine Eurrita, along with Elaine’s sister, Rebecca Orozco, for the unyielding amazing and compassionate care through a complete dedication and service to both Jean and Roger's greatest sense of wellness.
Services are scheduled at Restland Funeral Home. Visitation is to be held Thursday, October 7, from 2-6pm, and the celebration of life memorial services are in held within the Memorial Chapel, on Friday, October 8, at 2 pm.in any amount to either The First United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas and/or The National Alzheimer's Association, located in Chicago, Illinois in her name.
The family appreciates each and every one of you that can attend, and /or donate any amount to these extremely, important organizations to Mrs. Jean Crownrich.
In Infinite Gratitude and Blessings!
