Dorothy "Grace" Kesler Enlow's Obituary
Dorothy “Grace” Kesler Enlow, 85, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2025. Born on February 28, 1940, in Brownwood, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Harvey and Alma Kesler.
Grace lived a life defined by devotion, gentleness, and unwavering love for her family. She was an extraordinary daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother — someone whose presence brought steadiness, warmth, and grace to every room she entered. True to her name, she carried herself with kindness, humility, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
After graduating from Abilene High School, Grace attended North Texas State University, where she met the love of her life, Roger. She joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority and earned her degree in education and began her career as a teacher in Dallas, Texas, at Brown Jr. High. Grace taught until the birth of their son in 1964, followed by their daughter in 1965. As her children grew, she remained deeply involved in their lives, serving actively in the PTA and later becoming a substitute teacher in Richardson ISD.
In the 1980s, Grace embarked on a new chapter, partnering with a friend to create a catering business, Be Our Guest. She poured her creativity and work ethic into the business for nearly 20 years. Determined to support the venture fully, she returned to school to study bookkeeping so she could manage the company’s financial side with confidence and care.
Grace was also a dedicated volunteer, giving her time and talents generously to causes close to her heart. She served faithfully at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, contributed to the Grace Museum and the Medical Care Mission in Abilene, Texas, and supported other community organizations throughout her life. She also served as the Chapter Advisor for Alpha Delta Pi at SMU for many years where she poured into the lives of many young women. Her service was always offered quietly, joyfully, and without expectation of recognition.
When grandchildren arrived, Grace embraced her favorite role of all. She could be found in the stands, the audience, or the crowd — cheering at games, applauding at concerts, attending recitals, and celebrating every milestone. Her presence was a constant source of encouragement and love.
Grace is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roger J. Enlow, Sr.; her son, Roger J. Enlow, Jr., and his wife, Stephanie; her daughter, Laura Enlow Norris, and her husband, Trey; her grandchildren, Roger J. Enlow III (Tripp), Rebecca Enlow Quinn and her husband, Kyle, Grant Norris and his wife, Whitney, and Laney Norris; and her great-grandson, Callahan Norris. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Alma Kesler; her brother, Wayland Kesler; and her sister, Karen Whitten.
A private burial service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Feed Lake Highlands at https://feedlakehighlands.org.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Juliette Fowler for their loving and compassionate care given to Grace.
