My aunt Dorothy was an amazing person. She was the baby of her family and had 4 older sisters.
My mother Mary Martha loved her as if Dorothy were her child. Dorothy and Wesley were always so good to me. After mom and I moved to Dallas when I was 11, my wonderful aunt and uncle invited me to come to their house in Canyon Creek, Richardson so I could be with them and their kids Dana, Julie, and Mike. When I got my first drivers license, Dorothy let me use her car for the driving test. She had a wonderful party for me and my friends when I graduated from high school -Woodrow Wilson in Dallas- the same high school where she had gone. The last time I saw Dorothy, she treated me to a great lunch at The Chocolate Angel. Then we went to buy makeup!
Next week on Nov 4 I was hoping to see Dorothy one last time. My memories of this incredible, fun, sweet, loving lady will always include her wonderful paintings. I treasure the pink roses painting she did in ‘61 which I am proud to say is hanging on my wall. I shall remember my beloved aunt as a woman with a heart of gold who cherished her family. I know that she had a joyful reunion in heaven with Mama Kate, Dada, Wesley, Julie, Mary Martha, Eddie Lucille, Patsy, and Kathryn.
I look forward to seeing them again one day. Barbara Jean Cayton Moula
