Dorothy E. Goolsby's Obituary
GOOLSBY, DOROTHY, EUGENE Passed away at age 90 in Marlin, Texas on Aug. 1, 2008. Born June 27, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Obie and Naomi Senn. Raised in Cason, Texas where she married Willard Goolsby and later moved to Dallas, Texas. She also lived in Oak Cliff and later Lake Highlands until 2005 when she moved to the Elmwood Nursing Center in Marlin, Texas. Dorothy loved to cook, and most of her meals were a feast. She liked to sew, play bingo, and she also loved her friends and family. Dorothy is survived by her son: Willard Jerry Goolsby and wife Roberta; grandchildren: Debra Lynn Hancock, and Dawn Alane Goolsby; 3 great grandchildren, Danielle Weadon, Heather Pyles and Melody Hancock and eight great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Obie ‘Nub’ Senn Jr., Billy Senn; sister, Elizabeth Ryan, many nieces and nephews and ex-husband, Willard Goolsby. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Jones. Goolsby. Service will be at 3:30pm, Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service. The family would like to extend our appreciation to Elmwood Nursing Center for the wonderful care given to Dorothy. We would also like to thank caregivers, Comera Jones, Linda Hayes for their loving care. We would like to thank Oscar and Lupe Morgan for their love and care of Dorothy for many years.
