Dorothy May Greenfield's Obituary
Dorothy May Greenfield, 87, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, in Plano, Texas. Dorothy was born to Martin and Sue Ontman on April 21, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy spent her first 82 years in the Chicago area and northwest suburbs, and had 3 children, 2 step-children, and 9 grandchildren. Those who knew Dorothy know that she enjoyed restaurants, traditional Chicago foods, casinos, Las Vegas, Mahjong with good friends, and crossword puzzles, among several other things. Dorothy was fiercely independent, a loyal friend which earned her many lifelong friendships, and extremely proud of her entire family.
Dorothy was married to Ivan Schubert (July 31, 1936 - Sep 15, 1982) from April 7, 1957 to 1979. Dorothy was married to Herbert M. Greenfield (April 25, 1927 - January 4, 2001) from May 25, 1980 until his passing in 2001, and is survived by her sister Helen Schwartz (Allen Schwartz), son Larry Schubert (Cheryl Schubert), son Cliff Schubert (Kelly Schubert), daughter Penny Moran, stepson Mark Greenfield (Andrea Greenfield), stepson Steve Greenfield (Joyce Hughes), grandson Ryan Schubert (Andrea Schubert), grandson Austin Schubert (Megan Schubert), grandson Carson Schubert, grandson Colin Moran, granddaughter Kyra Moran, granddaughter Kiarra Greenfield, granddaughter Samantha Greenfield, grandson Brian Greenfield, and grandson Ross Greenfield.
Dorothy was cremated in Dallas, TX --- and a Celebration of Life event will be held in the Chicago area on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 11:00am - 3:00pm, with a Memorial Service component at 12:00pm, in Lake Forest, IL. For exact location, please contact Larry, Cliff, or Penny.
