Dorothy Marie Grimes' Obituary
Dorothy Marie Grimes passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 surrounded by loving family.
Dorothy was born in Quanah, TX on February 12, 1925 to Claude and Ruth Asher Crouch. The family later moved to Denton County where the farming was better. Dorothy graduated from Krum High School in 1942, and, like many of her generation, moved from the farm to the city where she found employment in various wartime jobs, including working at a large defense contractor, now known as General Dynamics. During this time, Dorothy volunteered with the USO and enjoyed attending the social events with her friends. In 1948, she moved to Garland, TX where she was a wife, mother and homemaker, residing in the same house for 73 years. In April 1966, she married the love of her life, E. L. (Dub) Grimes. Together, they spent 55 glorious years loving and caring for one another and enjoying each and every day. Faith was very important to Dorothy and she actively lived what she believed. She attended Austin Street Church of Christ, North Pointe Church of Christ, and Saturn Road Church of Christ. She had the heart of a servant and will be remembered by all who knew her for her humor, wit, hospitality, delicious pecan tarts, and love of life, family, and friends.
