Dorothy Ann Hampton Rosler's Obituary
ROSLER, DOROTHY ANN HAMPTON joined her husband John C. Rosler, Jr. in Heaven on November 18, 2013. Dorothy was born to Bernard and Edith Hampton in West Frankfort, Illinois, on April 26, 1920. She graduated from West Frankfort High School before moving to St. Louis, Missouri, where she attended Washington University. She and her husband moved many times during their 58-year marriage, residing in Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, New Jersey, Kansas, Texas, Florida, before retiring back in Texas. While in New Jersey, she lived for 15 years in Summit and was a member of Christ Church as well as the Fortnightly Club. From 1981 until moving to Houston 2 1 1/2 years ago, she lived in Dallas and was a dedicated member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Dorothy, a stay-at-home wife and mother, who along with her duties as PTA president, Girl Scout leader, and Cub Scout leader, was most importantly the chief household chef, chauffeur, cleaning lady, finance manager, psychologist, nurse, seamstress, and perfect role model for her children. Such in-house experience provided the background needed when she became an office manager at Visual Graphics Corporation in Dallas and later in Tamarac, Florida. After retirement from VGC, she worked many years as an income tax consultant for H & R Block and doing volunteer tax preparation for AARP. A devout Christian known for her loving spirit, gentle patience, and giving heart, DeeDee’s presence will be greatly missed by extensive family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Rosler Salisbury of Middlesex, NJ; two sons-Robert Kelly Rosler (Carol) of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and John Curtis Rosler III (Beth) of Spring, Texas; seven grandchildren-David Salisbury, Rick Rosler, Lauralee Battista, Robin Fowler, Rachel Livingston, Katy Dodds, and Joy Foerster–as well as 13 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Allegiance, Ivy, Julia, Theoden, Eowyn, Bryce, Josie, Celia, Matthew, Kaylin, Benjamin, and Dylan; all who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Friday between 4:30 and 6:30 PM. Interment will be on Saturday, November 23rd at 12:00 P.M. with Reverend Harry Meissner officiating.
