Shirley Sanders
My dearest Dorothy, can’t imagine you not being here, looking so beautiful, so elegant and loving. You have been such a true friend to me since we bonded at our first meeting, via Ms. Lola. She was such a special lady also, talented beautiful with a green thumb and could grow anything. I loved how Dorothy took care of her mother as Carol did to her mom, not an easy task at time but such a rewarding experience that you will treasure more everyday. I was talking to my daughter, Nina this morning and she related a happening that if I knew it before I had forgotten. It was at a time that her family couldn’t be there when she was in the hospital and I had asked Nina to go by and see Dorothy if she could and she did. She told Nina that she loved me so much and Nina told her the feeling was so mutual, Dorothy said. “Shirley gets my funny, and I get hers. I realized this morning that this summed up our special love for each and it makes me happy and sad at the same time. All my girls and my granddaughters loved Dorothy and she was part of our family. I’m so glad that I will see her again in heaven and my heart will be forever sad without her here. We love you Dot forever.
