Dorothy Dossett Hinds, age 90, was born to loving parents, Henry Sylvester Dossett and Lola Tune Dossett on September 23, 1927 in Cleburne, Texas. She passed away on April 18, 2018 in Rockwall, Texas.The family request that visiting hours be observed at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, April 23, 2018. Followed by a graveside funeral service for Ms. Dorothy Nell Hinds that will be held in Section F at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Restland Cemetery.Survived by daughter, Carol Johnson; sons, Russell Bowen, and wife Becky, and Frank Bonner; daughter in law, Linda Bowen; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.Dorothy lived the greatest part of her life in and around Dallas. Her love of music from an early age lead her in her singing, from church and school, to the Dallas Civic Opera. She performed for many decades. She loved community theater and was very active while living in Paris, Texas for a number of years. Dorothy was full of life and bright colors, from opera singer to mother and grandmother, great and great great grandmother to published poet. She was as bright and beautiful as the colors she loved. Above all of her accomplishments, she would tell you that being a student of the Bible and disciple for Christ Jesus would be her greatest blessing!Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243, (972-238-7111).
