Dorothy Lou Homerstad's Obituary
Dorothy Lou Homerstad passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Dorothy was born on March 17, 1932, in Midland, Texas. She had one older sister, one older brother and one younger brother. She grew up in Midland until she graduated from Midland High School in 1950. She attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas in the early 1950's. She returned to Midland where she was an accountant for a Methodist church. In
In 1955 Donald walked in the church looking for a Sunday School class for misfits. Dorothy and Donald married in1957. In 1960, son Paul, was born. In 1959, Dorothy graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock with a degree in Education. She was a housewife until 1966. She then accepted a teaching position in Lubbock.
Dorothy and Donald moved Dallas in 1967. There she taught elementary school until retirement in 1994. Upon retirement, Dorothy indulged into her hobbies (gardening, shopping, baking, knick-knacking the house, taking care of her beloved Donald, growing in the Lord (she could have been a pastor)).
Donald passed away in 2018 at the age of 90 years. Dorothy and Donald were married 61 years.
Dorothy is survived by her son, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A private funeral will be held for the family.
