I was among a small group Andy and Steve's friends from the Dallas area who met while attending the University of Texas at Austin. Starting in the mid-1980's, we would always get together over Christmas break, usually at the Kluck residence in Richardson, to hang out, goof around, and make silly videos with Andy's video camera (this was way before iPhones and YouTube). Mr. and Mrs. Kluck were very gracious hosts to our shenanigans, always made us feel welcome, and made sure we were well-fed if we were there at mealtime. These annual gatherings, which came to be known as Kluckfest, moved to Andy's swinging bachelor pad, then to Pattie's house, and then to Andy and Pattie's home. Over the years they gradually transitioned from multiple-day events that rarely ended before midnight to a single dinner gathering, with Mr. and Mrs. Kluck often in attendance, followed by a couple of hours of just hanging out. They were always happy to see us and a joy to be around. They were a great example of genuinely nice people and I'm glad I got to know them for a short while. My condolences to the family.
