Dorothy Jean Martin's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Riddell Martin was born to Lilly and Leroy Riddell on October 16, 1928 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on June 25, 2020 in Dallas. A fourth generation Texan and third generation Dallas resident, Jean graduated from Sunset High School in January 1946 and attended North Texas Agricultural College (NTAC), which later became the University of Texas at Arlington. Jean married Luther W. Martin in January of 1952 and spent time in Washington, California, Illinois and Colorado before returning to her beloved Texas. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Luther and her sister Ann Marks. She is survived by brother James Riddell, her children Bill Martin, Randy Martin and Janice Martin Carle, and her grandchildren Andrew Carle, Meredith Carle and Samuel Martin. Jean was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT). Burial will be at Restland in Dallas on July 6, 2020.
