Dorothy Moore McKinney's Obituary
MCKINNEY, DOROTHY MOORE age 96, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday in her North Dallas home. Dorothy, known to family and friends as “Lady,” was born in Granger, Texas, to Constable Sam Moore and Mattie Odessa Fikes. She married W.N. “Mac” McKinney, the love of her life, on October 4, 1969 in Irving, Texas. They enjoyed a fabulous life together uniting five adult children, their spouses, and fourteen grandchildren. They were members of Preston Hollow United Methodist Church in Dallas and were very active in the community. “Lady” served almost twenty years as Executive Secretary of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas where she and Mac first met. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being with her family and friends, traveling, parties, entertaining, laughing, the finer things in life, and of course, shopping. She is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Ann Strong and husband, Paul of Arlington, Kay Mejia and husband, Paul of Marble Falls; Katherine McKinney, widow of W.N. McKinney of Houston; sons, Richard McKinney and wife, Kathy of Lincoln, California, David McKinney and wife, Sylvia of Paris, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
