Dorothy D. Nieman peacefully passed on August 11th, 2022. She was preceded by her husband, Ed G. Nieman and daughter Judy Foster (spouse – David).
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Joyce McKeon (spouse – James), Janice Ball (spouse – Jon), and Heidi West (spouse – George). Dorothy is survived by her nine grandchildren: Tricia Barker (spouse – John Barton), Edward Ball (spouse – Sarah Graber), Elaine Walker (spouse – Seth), Corbin Ball, Lucas Coulter (spouse – Becky), Stephen Coulter (spouse – Ginny), Breanne Pettigrew (spouse – Jonathan), Caitlin Frasure (spouse – Danny), and Daniel Foster (spouse – Shea). Dorothy was blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for nearly six decades. Dorothy worked for the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. She was a founding member of the North Dallas Liberal Arts. She loved playing Bridge. Tennis was a game Dorothy enjoyed. She enjoyed ballroom dancing. Wheel of Fortune was her favorite TV show. Dorothy had season tickets to the Dallas Cowboys until they moved to Arlington. She enjoying rooting for the Cowboys. Wine was Dorothy’s drink of choice, but Martini Friday’s was a thing.
Dorothy enjoyed life and family gatherings. Preparing for holiday feasts gave Dorothy great pleasure. Her Beef Tenderloin and Crème Brule were family favorites. Dorothy was devoted to her family and friends. Treating everyone as family by showing them they were cared for and loved was important to Dorothy.
