Dorothy Daniel Schreiber's Obituary
Schreiber, Dorothy Fay “Dot” (Daniel)Passed from this life early Monday morning, April 13, 2009. She was 83. A native Dallasite and long time Richardson, Texas resident, born January 22, 1926, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Howard Preston Schreiber, and parents, Sid and Pearl Daniel. She is survived by daughter, Sharyn Schreiber Pinney, husband, Welby Pinney and daughter, Sarah Xiu Ling Pinney, all of Dallas; daughter, Susan Kay Harrison, husband, John S. Harrison, step-son, Eric Harrison, daughter, Eva Parsons, of Dallas and step-son, Kevin Harrison, of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also, by sister, Norma Daniel Stults, and husband, Jerry Stults; nephew, Ron York and partner, Mary Healy; and niece, Melissa York. Dorothy attended Vickery School and Hillcrest High while helping her farming family with their dairy delivery business. Marrying her high school sweetheart and working for Sentry Insurance Company in downtown Dallas while Howard served as an Army scout in Europe during World War II, she went on to welcome him home after the war’s end and enjoyed a long and rewarding career as Personnel Administrator of the Dallas Hartford Insurance Group office. She was fiercely devoted to family and friends and generously loved her grandchildren, her church and her community. She will be long cherished and deeply missed. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16 from 6:30-8:30 pm, Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 972-238-7111. Memorial Service and Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be at 1:00 pm Friday, April 17 at First United Methodist Church, 503 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas (972-235-8385 for directions) with reception following in the Shauver Welcome Center. Private burial following at Restland Memorial Park.
