Dorothy Strand's Obituary
Dorothy Jane “Dot” Strand, age 79 of Richardson, Texas passed away on May 10, 2015. She was born June 27, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Kelly Paul (“KP”) and Elizabeth (Hughes) Jones. Dot and Bette, her twin sister, graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas. Dot and her high school sweetheart Robert “Bob” Strand were married forty-seven years and raised twin daughters Debra and Karen. She worked at Mobil Oil and retired from the Richardson School District. Dot is survived by her daughter Debi Fain; grandchildren Katie (James R “JR”) Buford, Whitney Fain, Chelsea Caffee and Cameron Caffee; great-grandson Jacob “Jake” Buford; Beloved Sister and Caregiver Patricia Whitaker, twin sister Elizabeth “Bette” (Roger) Sparks of Hemet, CA and several nieces and nephews. Dot was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Robert “Bob” Strand, her daughter Karen Renee Caffee and brother-in-law Donald Whitaker. Private graveside services were held at Restland Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
