Dorothy Maxine Valentine's Obituary
Valentine, Dorothy M. Wilson Of Amarillo, died early Wednesday at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice after a short illness. She was 91. Mrs. Valentine was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Dallas, to Davis A. and Lucille Lois Fort Wilson. She attended Dallas public schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1937. Mrs. Valentine was married for 68 years to William F. Valentine, of Amarillo. The couple married Dec. 19, 1942, in Red Bank, N. J. just before then-2nd Lt. Valentine shipped overseas during WWII. Mrs. Valentine and her husband resided at the Park Central Harrington Assisted-Living Center in Amarillo at the time of her death. Mrs. Valentine came with her husband to Amarillo in 1980. She worked with him on a variety of construction-management projects around the city, including the St. Anthony’s Hospice, the Amarillo Independent School District, Amarillo College, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. She was also employed in the executive offices at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Mrs. Valentine was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Davis D. Wilson and James Fort Wilson. She is survived by daughter Sandy Haskovce, of Ennis, and her husband, Kenneth; daughter Lyn Graham, Moore, Okla., and her husband, Kent; grandson Justin Graham, Plano, and his wife, Kimber; grandson Maj. Jonathan Graham, Prattville, Ala., and his wife, Dana; grandson Dr. Jeremy Graham, Portland, Ore; and by great-grandchildren Keira and Danielle Graham, of Prattville, Ala., and Riley and Duncan Graham, of Plano. Mrs. Valentine is also survived by nieces Nancy Valentine Chupp, of Joshua; Vicki Valentine Wright, of Garland, and her husband, Jimmy; Dr. Carol Wilson, of Sanger; Adrian Wilson Anderson, of Denton, and her husband, David; Nancy Wilson Humphrey, of Farmer’s Branch, and her husband, Irving; and Tess Wilson Swindle, Columbus, and her husband, Gary. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas.
